Our next big adventure is Parc Omega! Parc Omega is a wildlife park which is an easy 1-hour drive on highway 50 from Saint-Lazare. It sits on 2200 acres of land and is home to a wide range of wildlife that are indigenous to Quebec. This means that unlike a zoo, the animals have a huge area to roam, and live amongst other species of animals that they would normally be living with in their natural habitats.
What many people in our region don’t realize is that this is one of the hottest destinations in Quebec for international travelers because it gives them a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with animals that they’ve only ever read about or seen on TV.
The core of the park experience is the car trail, where you get to drive through the habitats from the comfort of your own vehicle. This makes the experience easily accessible for the whole crew including younger children or people with mobility restrictions.
Don’t forget to pick up lots of carrots when you buy your tickets so everyone can have a chance to feed them as they walk up to your car! Another highlight for us was the halfway mark where they have some amazing playgrounds, food, live music, and the Wolf Observatory.
We had a blast and Ellis gave it a 100/10 rating so overall the adventure was a big success!
